Our team.

kyle farmer | elder / Lead Pastor

Meet Kyle Farmer: Teaching Elder of Lux Fellowship! Kyle has his Bachelor’s degree from Shorter University and his Master’s of Divinity degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Kyle is passionate about preaching and teaching the Gospel, and echoes Paul’s words in 1 Corinthians 9:16: “Woe is me if I do not preach the Gospel!” As Teaching Elder of Lux Fellowship, Kyle emphasizes Lux’s key focuses in his leadership: gospel centrality, simplistic worship, expositional preaching, and a missional lifestyle.

Kyle is a personal trainer and avid weightlifter and can almost always be found in the gym or training for jiu jitsu! Kyle is married to Kasey Farmer, who is a local Tennessee attorney. Kyle and Kasey live in Rock Spring, Georgia, with their mini dachshund, Dietrich. They love doing ministry together and are so excited about the future of Lux Fellowship. In their free time, they love reading, writing, traveling, and watching movies.

Philip foster | elder

Meet Philip Foster: Functioning Elder of Lux Fellowship! Philip is a dedicated husband, father, and outdoor enthusiast. He has been happily married to his wife, Jennifer, for 21 years, and they have four wonderful children together. Philip came to faith in Jesus Christ at the age of 25 and has been grateful for the Lord's desire to know him ever since. He is passionate about serving his community and volunteers his time whenever he can.

When he's not volunteering, Philip enjoys cheering on his kids at sports games, camping, fishing, and exercising outdoors. He loves spending time in nature and finds it to be a great way to connect with God and recharge his soul. Philip is a humble and compassionate leader who is always willing to lend a helping hand.

Terry Whitlock | elder

Terry is a dedicated husband, father, and student of the Word. He and his wife Candy have 6 beautiful children and reside in Rock Spring. The Lord graciously drew Terry to Himself in his late teens. He has worked in Terry’s life to grow him and mature him in his faith. He worships the Lord by being a servant to his family, his church, and those around him.

When not serving, Terry enjoys running and being outdoors in general. He loves the sunshine and the warm weather months. He can often be found spending one-on-one time with one of the children by helping with homework, watching a movie, or taking them on a day trip. He serves his wife faithfully by being present and always available to be her biggest fan. He is excited to serve the congregants of Lux and the community of Rock Spring.
